The School for Wives
Translated and directed by Lestocq Bowerman.
The wealthy Monsieur Arnolphe is obsessed with fears of wifely infidelity. He therefore plans to marry his young ward, whom he has had cared for in a convent and kept in a state of absolute ignorance. She will, so he believes, thus be innocent and faithful. When a rival appears, but unwittingly tells him of his intentions, it seems the cards are stacked in his favour. But wait! Fate may yet play the joker.
