The Dock Brief & The Proposal

The Dock Brief by John Mortimer takes place in a prison cell between an unsuccessful prisoner and an unsuccessful and aged barrister, who are trying to sort out how to present their case in court.  In contrast, The Proposal by Anton Chekhov is a light and amusing play with a landowner father trying to coope with the cross purposes of his wilful daughter and her suitor, a real hypochondriac.
