Vinegar Tom

Devilishly subversive, dramatic, funny and shocking!
-
Production Company:

This spring, YAT are taking on Caryl Churchill's 1976 play Vinegar Tom. Inspired by the Equal Pay Act of 1970, Vinegar Tom tells the story of witch trials in 17th century England from the perspective of its victims - normal women falling prey to abuses of power, cruelty, violence and execution.

Devilishly subversive, dramatic, funny and shocking, the play incorporates narrative-breaking songs and real testimonies from the setting. Exploring themes of gender, power and oppression, Vinegar Tom forces us to question just how much has changed.

Doors will open at 7.00pm.
Performance will start promptly at 7.45pm.
Latecomers may not be allowed entry until a suitable break in the performance.

Warning: This production contains strong language and adult themes.
