The Thrill of Love

A life for a life - the Ruth Ellis story
Sun 15 Mar 2015 to Sat 21 Mar 2015
Hampton Hill Theatre: Main Auditorium
“The jazz singer was fantastic”
“A gripping story of a wronged woman”
“An evocative journey into 1950s Soho”

Men, booze, gangsters, money; working the 1950s Soho nightclubs was a way of life for Ruth Ellis. Friend to glamorous starlet Diana Dors and with connections to Stephen Ward and the rich Cliveden set, Ruth "knew" many men but was obsessed only with David. With jazz songs by Camille, the play takes a fresh look at Ruth's life and her downward spiral to national notoriety.

This production deals with sexual themes and parental guidance is advised.

An amateur production by arrangement with Nick Hern Books
