The End of the Affair
It is 1946. Henry Miles, a civil servant, suspects that his wife Sarah is having an affair and asks his writer friend Maurice Bendrix to contact a private investigator on his behalf. Maurice has a secret however: he was once Sarah’s lover, and is equally keen to find out whether she was unfaithful to him too.
From opposing ends of social change, TTC’s Double Treachery Season offers two very different takes on infidelity from two of Britain’s greatest writers - Harold Pinter’s Betrayal (11-17 Sept), followed by Graham Greene’s The End of the Affair (25 Sept–1 Oct).
