Production Company:

"We’re going to take you to Whitewall High School. It’s a comprehensive school somewhere in England… and they’re expecting a new teacher to arrive. There’s fifteen hundred kids at Whitewall, and it’s in a Special Priority Area, which means that it’s got it’s fair share of problems…”

Written by one of Britain’s best loved playwrights John Godber, who brought you BouncersShakers and September in the Rain, Teechers depicts life in a state school with all its social politics and bureaucracy for both teachers and students alike.

“All we want you to do is use your imagination, because there’s only three of us and we all have to play different characters… and narrators, so you’ll have to concentrate!”

This frantic play within a play (within a play… within a play?!) sees three students, Gail, Hobby and Salty, along with their newly qualified teacher Mr Nixon, try to manoeuvre through school life, teenage crushes and tormenting bullies.

Far too many characters, played by far too few actors, in this delightfully fast-moving, comic play.

This is amateur production is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd. on behalf of Samuel French Ltd.
