Revealing the unique and histrionic talent of poet Stevie Smith
Sun 13 Nov 2016 to Sat 19 Nov 2016
Hampton Hill Theatre: Coward Studio
“A beautifully written play - funny and moving”
“Really strong piece with powerful performances”
“Jane Marcus gave a tour-de-force performance as Stevie”

Stevie Smith, one of the most original poets of the 20th century leaps off the page in Hugh Whitemore's cleverly constructed drama.

Life in the suburbs with her beloved "Lion Aunt" contrasts with the world outside, where from the early 1930's she was a vibrant figure among intellectuals and writers of the day.  Often funny, sometimes melancholy, this intimate study reveals a portrait that is both fascinating and absorbing.
