Love and Understanding

Three into two goes bad
Sun 16 Jun 2013 to Sat 22 Jun 2013
Hampton Hill Theatre: Coward Studio
“The play was very strong and the production innovative.”
“...our first visit to the theatre and it was really very good.”
“It definitely has something... I was touched.”

Overworked young doctors Neal and Rachel endure a stressful and almost sexless romance. Enter Neal's old friend Richie, an unstable and impulsive blast from the past. An arch manipulator, he quickly spots the couple’s vulnerabilities, lying, insinuating and betraying confidences until their relationship breaks down.

Blending the aggressive sexuality of Mamet with the warped naturalism of Pinter, Penhall's dark comedy is an under-performed masterpiece of tension and manipulation.
An amateur production by arrangement with Samuel French Limited
