A double bill of French farce by George Feydeau and Eugene Labiche in a new adaptation by Matthew Ryan

(A) Jailbird (Gibier de Potence)
An already complicated love triangle between a doctor, his wife and her lover becomes more confusing upon the arrival of another suitor...disturbingly he matches the description of a wanted murderer.
(B) The Coal Seller Affair (L'Affaire de la Rue de Lourcine)
Two old school chums are painfully hungover and missing personal items whilst other items, not theirs, are found in their pockets. Their day gets a whole lot worse when circumstances point to them being involved in a heinous crime.
Specific double-ups are necessary for dramatic purposes
All male characters playing ages are middle-aged. Female character playing age late 20s to mid-30s.
(A) Lemercier, the Suitor & (B) Lenglume, Norine's husband
(A)Taupinière, the Lover & (B) Mistingue, Lenglume's school chum
(A) Pépita 'La Lambelle', operetta star and Plumard's wife & (B) Norine, Lenglume's wife
(A) Plumard, Pepita's husband & (B) Justin, Lenglume's servant
(A) Dubrochard, a greengrocer & (B) Potard, Norine's cousin
NB - Auditions will be judged on energy, body language and facial expression whilst playing 'straight'.
French Twist is terrific farce ...but NOT 'ham'.
