Dad’s Army by Jimmy Perry & David Croft

Directed by Sally Halsey

Fall in for the TV classic - you're doomed to laugh!

Looking forward to seeing lots of you at the reading and audition for Dad’s Army - an adaptation for the stage of three episodes from TV plus a specially written sketch.

Deadly Attachment - It's 1940 and the Walmington-on-Sea Home Guard platoon have to guard a captured U-Boat Captain and his crew. But fearless Captain Mainwaring incurs German displeasure when he orders the defiant prisoners be served soggy fish and chips!

Mum’s Army - The Home Guard are recruiting women but as Mrs Mainwaring hasn't left the house since Munich, she won't be joining her husband's platoon. So when newcomer, Mrs Gray, joins, Captain Mainwaring is set for a brief encounter.

The Godiva Affair -  The Walmington-on-sea Home Guard platoon are rehearsing their Morris Dancing routine as part of a fund-raising carnival parade which will include a ride-past by Lady Godiva. Unfortunately for Mr Mainwaring, there's a last minute substitution for Godiva!

The Floral Dance - As rendered by the Walmington-on-sea Home Guard under the leadership of Captain Mainwaring. This sketch was very successful in the production at the Shaftesbury Theatre and was performed by the Dad's Army team when they appeared in the Royal Command Variety Performance.
