The Play

The play is set in a cottage by the sea where Virgie, an artist, is at the start celebrating her 84th birthday with family and old friends. Virgie has something to say which changes things for all of them. The action takes place now and is about creative work, family relationships and the conflict between them, especially for women; and what happens in old age. The play is bleakly funny; everyone swears, and some people smoke! And it has really good parts for mature people.
